The Practiceworks schedule page is a useful tool to manage the documentation of treatment notes, xrays that need to be ready and other "To Do's" in association with appointments.
Compliance: Making sure all the appointments have provider tx notes entered.
Convenience1: Make it easy to find appts without tx notes.
Convenience2: Enter tx notes right from the CE
Descriptive Actions: Think of the Recall CE, where the appropriate action is displayed, like email, call1, etc.
The system requires participation from all providers to update the description field for all appointments. To add or update the action, double click on the appointment in Practiceworks.
Example Appointment descriptions and their meanings:
BX/NPA = Bianca needs to make a note, X-rays need to be read. New patient appointment
hX/RECA = Hygienist entered note; Bianca needs to read X-rays. Recall appointment
bx/EMER = Bianca entered note, xrays read; Emergency appointment
The following is a legend of the annotations to appointments. In general here are the rules:
"CAPITOL LETTERS" mean that an action is required.
"small letters" mean that an action has been completed.
B - Bianca needs to make treatment note
b - Bianca has completed treatment note
X - X-rays need to be read
x - X-rays read and treatment has been Tx planned
H - Hygiene note needed
h - Hygiene note completed
P - Patient needs to be contacted regarding treatment.
p - Patient has been contacted and an appointment has been scheduled.

| Appts w/ XXXX scheduled | | Description: | A Contact Expert of all future appointments with the code XXXX scheduled. XXXX can be an ADA code number (3 or 4 digits) or an abbreviation, such as PFMCRN.
It finds ALL future appointments for any patient who has ANY appointment with XXXX scheduled - no way around that.
